For me biggest problem was this god. Thats why i started gping to secular (agnostics, atheists, free thunkers) and now i am 4 month sober and starting step 4 :)

One month and a few days later, I can say that the 12 steps DO WORK!!!

I was sober for 3 years thanks to this program I want do it again

what a great tool to have while doing my written step work. i am not a fast reading and do not absorb knowledge i read as deeply as audio learning. thank you AA and thank God for this resource

I'm a very firm Atheist and it depressed me a lot when I was in AA for a short time that the people I was around continually downplayed non-belief or even this portion of personal stories. I want to stress that was not my only experience with AA, but what AA as a whole showed me was that people can easily become addicted to the group, and especially groupthink, instead of much more healthier ways in order to recover. They continually stress this idea that the only way out of any possible addiction is group, prayer, following a nearly 100 year old book, donations and old timer thinking... I couldn't do it and left years ago.

after listening to dr nicole labor on utube,now more thernever i understand why 12 steps are vitaltoa persons recovery,i been addicit over 53 yrs ,with moment of being sober ,but not soberity there is a difference i going to go back to the rooms find some one toguide me through the 12 steps best of luckto everyone who found soberity an those who struggle such as i do every day ,going on 8 months now by chioce this time ,not because the legal system pushed me in to the rooms ,no legal trouble for 0ver 15yrs but continued my way softer and easier ....i still miserable through my denile, may the high power find us all

Ive been committing slow-drip suicide for many, many years. I just started this program because I cant live like this anymore. My issue is I have never been religious. I dont even think about a higher power, so this is new to me. Is there anyone out there who feels, or has felt like this? Im not an athiest but i just feel ....nothing. Empty. One day at a time.
